Suspect identified in Dollar General shooting

TROTWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) – A woman is in critical condition after being shot by her boyfriend.

It happened around 3:00 p.m Friday at the Dollar General store on 5997 W. Third Street.

Police say the 46 year old woman was leaving work when she was confronted by her estranged boyfriend, David Hall, 44. Officials say a man opened fire, hitting the woman in the face and fled the scene in a vehicle.

The woman was immediately rushed to the hospital and taken into surgery.

Police say Hall drove to a home less than 2 miles away, on the 400 block of Whitmore Avenue where he reportedly shot himself. He was taken to Miami Valley Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The identity of the victim has not been released.
