TROTWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) – Trotwood police have now identified the woman shot by her estranged boyfriend.

Police say Dionne Sneed, 46, was ending her shift at the Dollar General store on Third Street when she was shot in the parking lot on Friday.

They say David Hall, 44, confronted the victim as she left work for the day.

Investigators say he was armed with a sub-machine gun that was fully automatic. He fired one shot that hit Sneed in the face.

“He purposely went there looking for her. He may or may not have had intentions to hurt her,” said Captain John Porter, Trotwood Police Department. “Unfortunately, that’s how it ended.”

She is currently hospitalized, but is said to be in stable condition..

Hall left the scene and later shot and killed himself about two blocks away on Whitmore Avenue. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police report no history of incidents involving the couple, although Hall had previous misdemeanor drug charges against him. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
