DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – An apparent case of road rage sent one man to the hospital.
The victim told police he was exiting Interstate 675 onto US 35 west when a gray Geo Prizm started to tailgate.
The victim indicates in a police report that he exited at Steve Whalen Boulevard and so did the gray car.
He says the car pulled around him and stopped right in front of him.
The police report says both drivers got out. The victim says the suspect told him he was driving too slow.
The suspect retrieved a box cutter and started swinging it at the victim.
The victim fled to his home. His wife took him to Grandview Medical Center for treatment of cuts and bruises.
“This case was assigned to one of our felonious assault detectives who works with the homicide squad and we take these things every seriously. You know, it’s completely inexcusable behavior and our detectives will work very hard at identifying the suspect and determining what happened here,” said Lt. Wendy Stiver, Dayton Police Department.
The suspect is described as having red hair. He was driving a 2000s gray Geo Prizm that was low-riding.
The incident happened Sunday around 6:00 p.m.
