TIPP CITY, Ohio (WDTN) – Three people are recovering after an early morning disturbance.
The Miami County Sheriff’s Office says three men were stabbed during the altercation Sunday morning during a holiday party.
Deputies say a large party got out of hand in the 6500 block of South County Road 25-A around 2:30 a.m. Sunday.
They say two women got into an argument that escalated into an all-out brawl involving the injured men. Deputies say one of the men used a pocketknife in the altercation. He told deputies he was defending himself.
One victim was stabbed in the stomach and removed to Miami Valley Hospital. He is expected to be released from the hospital Tuesday.
The second victim was stabbed in the arm. He was treated at the hospital, but has since been released. The third victim suffered a serious cut and was treated at the scene.
Investigators do believe alcohol played a role in the fight. No arrests have been made, but prosecutors are considering charges.
