Paula Deen tweets, deletes photo of her son in ‘brown face’

SAN FRANCISCO, Cali. (KRON) — Paula Deen has found herself at the center of another controversy involving allegations of racism, after she posted a photo showing her son in “brown face” make-up.
On Tuesday, the former Food Network star posted a picture on Twitter of herself dressed as Lucille Ball from “I Love Lucy,” with her son Bobby Deen in “brown face” as Desi Arnaz’s character Ricky Ricardo.

The photo was taken down a short time later, but not before people expressed outrage over her son’s appearance and his use of “brown face” make-up to darken his skin.

“Lucyyyyyyy! You got a lot of esplainin’ to do!” read the caption on the photo, which was posted along with the hashtag “Transformation Tuesday.”

This latest controversy comes two years after the 68-year-old Southern Cooking television personality was fired from the Food Network for using a racial slur.
