Tennessee couple engaged after ‘magical’ proposal

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – It was a magical proposal for one Belmont University student when her fiance used an illusion to ask for her hand in marriage.

Both Nathan Costiuc and Sarai Gal-chis agree it wasn’t exactly magical when they met, Sarai saying that she didn’t even remember him at first.

But Nathan knew he’d never forget her, and he spent months planning out his proposal.

“I knew I wanted to do something big and I knew I wanted to do something unique to who I was, but I think the hardest part was actually figuring out the trick. I mean I put about 15 to 20 solid hours of work into it,” he said.

Nathan ripped a newspaper to shreads and somehow put it back together and displayed the words, “Sarai, will you marry me?” Watch the moment in the video above.

And if you’re wondering if Nathan is keeping any magic tricks up his sleeve for the wedding day, “You know I think I’ve peaked. I don’t know what I’m going to do because I’ve reached a level even in my own abilities that I’m just like, ‘I don’t know where to go from here.’”

The couple plans to get married May 21, 2016, the week after she finishes nursing school.
