Wrong-way driver’s death ruled suicide

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) – The Clark County Coroner has determined the driver who crashed into a semi going the wrong way on 1-70 in April committed suicide.

The fiery crash closed the roadway for hours on April 14th. Troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol say Christopher Coleman, 35, drove the wrong way on I-70 close to Enon when he struck a semi head-on with his vehicle. Coleman died at the scene. The semi driver, Craig Martin, 64, of Stubenville, was only slightly injured.

According to the coroner, during the autopsy, there was Cannabinoids (THC) present in Coleman’s blood at the time of the crash.
