KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) – Kettering Fairmont High School is keeping the community up to date about a high school wrestler who suffered a stroke while practicing the sport.

The school’s web site published a letter from Ahmad Doucet’s family. His mother, Angela, says their family is “constantly praying for a miracle”.

In her update, she says Ahmad will undergo another surgery in the days ahead that will keep him hospitalized another six to eight weeks. She says her family is slowing working in the meantime, to bring him home to continue his recovery.

The family extended their thanks for all of the support the family is receiving.

Ahmad was practicing front headlocks on June 21 for a national tournament when the injury occurred. Ahmad suffered brain damage as a result of the stroke.

Fundraisers and a balloon launch were held in the weeks following his injury. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
