Bellefontaine man shot by stray bullet

BELLEFONTAINE, Ohio (WDTN) – A Bellefontaine man is recovering after he was accidentally shot in the mouth by a stray bullet from a pellet gun.

Peak of Ohio reports that Ray Pulfer, 57, was struck Tuesday morning.

Investigators say Pulfer owns a lawn care company.  He was working in a yard on Knowlton Road when he was struck.

They say someone fired the pellet gun trying to shoot a deer. The pellet hit Pulfer in the mouth instead.

He was taken by helicopter to Grand Medical Center in Columbus.

His injuries are not life-threatening.
