DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Tuesday, Governor John Kasich, (R-OH), officially announced that he is running for the 2016 GOP presidential nomination. He is not the first sitting governor to enter the race, and it is a crowded republican field. So, we asked a political science professor from the University of Dayton, Dan Birdsong, to provide some perspective and insight.
