XENIA, Ohio (WDTN) – Thousands of people in Greene County now know they will have a meal on the table.
The Foodbank held a mass distribution event Friday at the Nutter Center.
People in need lined up in their cars and were handed nutritious foods for their families.
“There are 24,830 individuals in Greene County alone who do not know where their next meal is coming from and we don’t want to see anyone go hungry in the Miami Valley,” said Michelle Riley, CEO, The Foodbank. “With support from CareSource, The Foodbank looks forward to serving those in need through this mass distribution.”
Each person filled out a required form stating that they are eligible. They then received fresh vegetable, produce and other food items.
CareSource sponsored the event and supplied volunteers to help distribute the food.
