INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WISH) — A graphic that claims to explain the effects of drinking one can of Coca-Cola in just an hour’s time is trending.

It was posted by an organization called the Renegade Pharmacist.

The graphic says within an hour – your blood sugar spikes, your blood pressure rises and your brain releases dopamine, similar to the way heroin works.

A TV station in Atlanta showed this graphic to a doctor. He said some of it – like the sugar crash – is true. But as for the warning about caffeine in the graphic – he says there is three times the amount in a cup of coffee.

He also says the heroin comparison is silly. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
