Piqua police investigate park shooting

PIQUA, Ohio (WDTN) – Piqua police are investigating after a man showed up at  the hospital with a gunshot wound early Wednesday morning.

Investigators say Treshon Whitson, 19, of Troy, showed up at Upper Valley Medical Center just after 1:30. He was then transferred to Miami Valley Hospital.

Investigators say he has one gunshot wound and is in stable condition.

Officers say Treshon claimed he was shot at Fountain Park.

Police served a warrant at a home on Walnut Street based on the victim’s account and did make an arrest.

The SWAT team was called in to assist during the search of the home.

The suspect’s name was not released.
