DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Professional truck drivers put their skills to the test in an annual safety competition Saturday.

Jet Express held its third annual truck driving competition at its location at 4518 Webster Road.

Drivers were tasked with performing a pre-trip inspection and navigating through a skills test, which recreated real world obstacles that drivers encounter daily.

Spectators could climb inside the cab of a big rig and try their hand at a truck driving simulator, while also talking with professional drivers and Jet Express executives about highway safety, the trucking industry, and the industry shortage of truck drivers and technicians.

The competition was also a part of Jet Express’ 30th anniversary.
