Suspect in custody after police surround Vandalia Super 8 motel

VANDALIA, Ohio (WDTN) — Police have a suspect in custody following an apparent standoff in Vandalia.

36-year-old Virgil Pack is now booked in the Montgomery County Jail after being arrested Tuesday night at the Super 8 Motel located at 550 East National Road.

Officials with the Vandalia police department say they were tipped Pack, who was wanted on warrant from Moraine, was staying at the Motel.

When they arrived officers say a Pack locked himself in a room on the first floor.

Police took him into custody around 10:15 p.m. without incident. There were no weapons or hostages found inside the room.

The suspect may now face additional charges in Vandalia following the standoff.
