Deputies investigate deadly motorcycle crash in Mercer County

MERCER COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) — Deputies are investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV.

Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey said the accident happened Saturday morning on St. Route 219 just west of Coldwater.

The sheriff’s office said Dustin Rutter, 24, of Coldwater struck the passenger side of a Chevy Equinox. The Equinox, driven by Jane Fiely, 65, had travelled in the path of the motorcycle after making a left turn into a private drive.

Rutter was taken by ambulance to Mercer Health Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Fiely was also taken to the hospital. Her condition was not given.
