KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) — Kettering Police will be cracking down on drunk drivers.
The department along with the Montgomery County OVI Task Force will hold an OVI checkpoint from 11 p.m. Saturday until 3 a.m. Sunday in the 2200 block of Woodman Drive.
The OVI checkpoint is funded by federal grant and local court monies.
Police often hold checkpoints because they net suspended drivers, drug offenders, people with outstanding warrants, and minor traffic and equipment violations.
The checkpoint will also be held in conjunction with nearby saturation patrols to aggressively combat alcohol related injury and fatal crashes.
Another checkpoint is also planned Saturday night in Butler County at 9 p.m. on State Route 73 at Trenton-Hamilton Road in Trenton.
Officials warn, if you plan to drink, designate a sober driver.
