WPAFB, Ohio (WDTN) – A new playground hopes to support families affected by illness.
Wright-Patterson Fisher House opened a new playground Wednesday.
It is for the kids of guests staying in their facilities.
Fisher Houses allows military families to stay together while undergoing medical treatment.
The playground will bring a sense of normalcy to the kids’ lives.
“Kids have to burn off energy for their sanity and for mom and dad’s sanity. We have guests in the house who are recuperating and you can’t keep them locked in their room and you can’t have them running up and down the hallways, but you really want them to go out and have some fun,” said Chris Stanley, Fisher Nightingale Houses Inc.
The Wright-Patterson Fisher House has helped more than 20,000 people in the last 25 years.
