DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Dayton Bomb Squad was called to check out a suspicious device Wednesday evening.
They safely disposed of the object, but still don’t know exactly what it was.
Crews were called to at 214 Martz Avenue shortly after 5:00 p.m.
A neighbor says the elderly man that lived there recently moved to a nursing home. A person cleaning out the house noticed the device in a box and called for help.
One neighbor told 2 NEWS the man used to joke that he “kept enough explosives to blow up the neighborhood.”
The alley around the house was blocked for a couple of hours until the device was removed to a safe area for detonation.
