DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A $30,000 donation will help fund local veterans’ trips to Washington D.C.

Home Instead Senior Care received a grant from its company to serve seniors in the Miami Valley.

They are using the funds to honor veterans in the community by helping sponsor this weekend’s Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.

Miami Valley veterans will fly to our nation’s capital and visit the war memorials and share their stories.

“From what we’ve gotten in working with Honor Flight of Dayton, they’ve told us how much this means to the veterans that they’re able to find a venue and be able to go down and see the memorials,” said Michael Glem, general manager, Home Instead Senior Care.

The flight tomorrow takes off at 6:00 a.m. They will return around 10:30 p.m.

The public is welcome to come out to the airport to see them off and welcome them home.
