Woman injured after crashing into utility pole

VANDALIA, Ohio (WDTN) –  A woman is being treated for injuries after she crashed her car into a utility pole.

It happened at around 5:30 a.m. on Alkaline Springs Rd and Bennert Drive.

According to Vandalia Police, the woman was driving eastbound when she attempted to pass another vehicle. She went left of center and struck the pole.

She was taken to Grandview Medical Center with minor injuries.

Police are investigating whether alcohol or speed was a factor in the crash.

Police say she was wearing a seatbelt.

Dayton Power & Light was called to the scene to make minor repairs to a utility pole. Police say there might have been 1 power outage due to the accident.

She will be cited for failure to control, according to police.

Alkaline Springs Rd reopened after the accident at around 6:15 a.m.
