Jail time for driver who struck and killed student

SIDNEY, Ohio (WDTN) – A Fort Loramie man will spend 60 days in jail for killing a Minster student.

John McGee, 19, will also be on probation for five years after his release.

His driver’s license was revoked and he must attend drug and alcohol counseling as well as pay a $500 fine.

McGee struck and killed Austin Brackman, 18, on November 29, 2014 along Schmitmeyer-Baker Road.

Deputies at the scene that morning said McGee did not see Brackman walking along the roadside.

Brackman was a student at Minster High School.
