Job expo puts fire, police recruits to the test

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The City of Dayton wants all those potential police officers and firefighters out there to take a test.

The police and fire departments held a career and readiness expo Wednesday evening.

Recruiters were at the University of Dayton Arena from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. to answer questions, but also put candidates through a five-minute fitness challenge.

Organizers say the fitness test allows prospective employees to get a feel for exactly what the physical challenges are for police and firefighters.

Specialty personnel such as forensics, HAZMAT AND SWAT team member will also be available to answer questions.
