Officials looking for driver after car fire outside Welcome Stadium

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Dayton police and fire officials are trying to track down a driver after a car catches fire early Tuesday morning.

It happened at Welcome Stadium around 1:30 a.m.

When crews arrived they found flames overtaking the car.

No one was inside at the time.

When 2 NEWS arrived, the flames were out but the car suffered heavy damage, especially to the engine area.

Officials say no one was around at the time so they’re trying to track down the driver.

No word on a cause.
