PIQUA, Ohio (WDTN) – What child doesn’t dream of a room of their own. One little girl’s dream came true.
The Special Wish Foundation created Shelby Lockhart’s dream bedroom. It is complete with new furniture, bedding and accessories, including a lava lamp and new TV.
Of course, it is painted in the brightest pink for the 8 year old.
Shelby is battling Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia which is a cancer of the blood. She is undergoing treatment at Dayton Children’s Hospital.
She tearfully screamed, “I love it” when she saw her new room.
“Seeing what it meant to Shelby was very gratifying,” said Jerry Sullenberger, who donated his time to paint Shelby’s room.
Town and Country Furniture in Piqua donated the furniture and Sherwin Williams provided the paint.
Shelby’s wish was made possible by the Dayton chapter of the Special Wish Foundation and a donation from Brent and Lisa Sabin who held a fundraiser on behalf of the organization.
