DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Montgomery County deputies think a theft suspect might be heading to the flooded Carolinas to do contract work with stolen tools.
Deputies released a surveillance photo of the suspect. They think he stole more than $100,000 worth of tools from rental stores in Harrison Township, Cincinnati and in Kentucky.
Investigators say he uses legitimate company names to rent the equipment and is very confident and friendly as he’s doing it.
He’s on the line for saws, generators, heaters and other high dollar tools.
Deputies say he uses several aliases to make the rentals including David Oliver, Mike Messer, Gene Campbell, Greg Walsh, Jason Hamblin, Jr. and John B.
He is known to drive either a gray Mitsubishi Lancer or a red Ford Explorer.
The suspect is described as 40 to 50 years old, 200 pounds, with a tattoo on his neck, possibly of a skull wearing a hat. He is bald or has tightly shaved hair.
Officers believe a second suspect may also be involved.
