MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) – We’re less than a month away from Election Day and hundreds have turned out for early voting.
Montgomery County Board of Elections director, Jan Kelly, believes the bigger turn out for early voting is because of the issues on the ballot this year.
She says many have strong opinions on Issue 3, the marijuana amendment and Issue 1, redistricting.
So far, 386 people have come out for early voting in the county. Kelly says a lot of new voters are registering this year because of those hot topics.
“I would anticipate some of those new registrations actually coming out and voting this year. We love to see that new participation, especially among the young voters,” said Kelly.
If you’re interested in early voting and are registered in Montgomery County, you can vote at the Board of Elections located at 451 W. Third Street.
Early voters need to bring proof of identification, like a drivers license or a piece of mail with their name and address on it.
