DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Hundreds of people hit the pavement around Fifth Third Field Saturday morning to stomp out a deadly disease.
The 2015 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk is part of a national fundraiser. Since 2014, the walk has gained more than a million walkers across the country and collected more than $60 million to fight the disease.
“We are here to fight for a cause and that is to eliminate breast cancer. If we all band together, we can and we will eliminate it one day,” said Amy Lina Berry who is a volunteer coordinator and also a cancer survivor herself.
Donations from the walk go directly to help those diagnosed with breast cancer.
