DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Dayton Police are investigating after two people were shot.
Police responded to the 800 block of Ferndale Avenue just before 3 a.m. Saturday.
When officers arrived, they said two men walked out the front door yelling that two people had been shot. They said the victims were driven by another person to Good Samaritan Hospital.
A witness told police they were all at the Ashwood Lounge earlier in the evening and then returned home when the shooting happened. The witness said two men were standing outside and one was holding an AK47. The witness told officers the suspects robbed one of the victims in the street and then shot him before firing several times into the home. That’s when another victim was hit by the gunfire. The suspects then ran from the scene.
The witnesses told police they didn’t know the suspects who shot the victims. They said they didn’t make any enemies while they were at the Ashwood Lounge and didn’t think that anyone followed them back to the home.
Police said they recovered shell casings from the scene. They also found drugs and crack cocaine inside the home. Officers said there were at least two bullets that hit the home and a large amount of blood at the scene.
Numerous people were nuisance abated from the home and police arrested a man for drug possession.
No word on the condition of the victims.
