Motorcyclist killed in Logan Co. crash

PERRY TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) — Troopers are investigating a crash that killed a motorcyclist.

The accident happened on State Route 292 near mile post 9 after 12 a.m. Sunday.

According to troopers, Edward Marland, 50, went left of center and hit a motorcyclist head-on. The motorcyclist, James Long, 20, was thrown from his bike. He was wearing a helmet but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Marland was not hurt.

Troopers said they believe alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash.
