DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The homecoming dance at Meadowdale High School has been canceled by the Principal.
Dayton Public Schools tells 2 NEWS the event was cancelled to, “ensure the safety and well-being of students because of recent events.” The dance was slated to be on school property on Saturday.
The school, and the school district, has recently been under fire since an incident that cause the evacuation of the school on Tuesday.
As we told you on Tuesday, Sheriff Phil Plummer said a teen called in a bomb threat to the high school. As part of the procedure, all students were moved to the middle school gym where a fight broke out. The sheriff said then that’s exactly what these kids wanted to happen. The Sheriff also said the school district needs to review the policies and procedures in place to try to avoid this happening in the future.
Dayton Public Schools are still investigating the fights.
