DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A Dayton couple is facing charges after they were linked to a dog named “Lazarus,” who died from severe dehydration and malnutrition.
The Montgomery County Animal Resource Center created a post to its Facebook page, said an “extensive investigation” was done with its office and the Dayton Police Department to investigate Lazarus’ case further.
Ronald and Mary Kincer face charges related to animal cruelty, including knowingly committed an act of cruelty against a companion animal, and others.
Investigators say “the person who called the dog in as a stray was allegedly an owner, harborer or keeper and allegedly gave false information to the impounding officer which resulted in additional charges beyond those for the care of Lazarus,” according to the resource center’s Facebook page.
The couple will be arraigned on October 29 at 10 a.m. at Dayton Municipal Court..
