KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) – The Kettering Fire Department is taking home the gold to help breast cancer reserach..
The department held a fundraiser at Buffalo Wild Wings Wednesday evening, geared to benefit the Pink Ribbon Girls. The non-profit organization provides support services, like home-delivered meals, to women undergoing treatment.
The event also featured a friendly “police versus fire” wing-eating competition, which the fire department won.
“It’s a good cause because it got a bunch of people out here, cheering and hopefully donating to the cause for the Pink Ribbon Girls,” said President of the Kettering Firefighters union Michael Holbert, Jr.
Organizers expected the event to raise about $1,000.
