Eating contest for breast cancer research

The Kettering Fire Department hosted a fundraiser for the Pink Ribbon Girls, and even had an eating contest against the police department.

KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) – The Kettering Fire Department is taking home the gold to help breast cancer reserach..

The department held a fundraiser at Buffalo Wild Wings Wednesday evening, geared to benefit the Pink Ribbon Girls. The non-profit organization provides support services, like home-delivered meals, to women undergoing treatment.

The event also featured a friendly “police versus fire” wing-eating competition, which the fire department won.

“It’s a good cause because it got a bunch of people out here, cheering and hopefully donating to the cause for the Pink Ribbon Girls,” said President of the Kettering Firefighters union Michael Holbert, Jr.
