Preble County mother sentenced in fire that killed children

Chastity Hall

PREBLE COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) – A Preble County mother will spend the next four years in jail after her two children died in a house fire.

A judge sentenced Chasity Hall Wednesday.

She was convicted on child endangering and involuntary manslaughter charges.

She was out at a bar last winter and her children were left at their West Alexandria home alone and a fire started, killing them and damaging the house.

Malea Bradburn, 10, and her brother, Malachi, 9 were found in the basement of the home after deputies say Hall returned home and said her children were inside. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
