DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Big news Sunday from Chaminade Julienne. The communications department announced plans to renovate and expand the Catholic high school’s performing arts rehearsal and performance spaces. They say the $1 million project is set to open in the fall of 2016, and will double the performing arts rehearsal and classroom spaces, and update the auditorium seating that dates back to 1951.
“Because of the generosity of those who wish to inspire and bring out the very best in our students performing on stage — as well as on the field — we will raise the curtain to the new and
improved CJ auditorium and performing arts spaces next fall,” said Dan Meixner, president, in a release.
In August, the school announced construction plans for Roger Glass Stadium, which will be home to an outdoor athletic complex.
The school says the new development is funded through LIFT, Leading in Faith Today, which is a $20 million initiative that’s covered other recent improvements at the school as well.
