Strikes for a great cause

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Bowlers made their way to the lanes for a great cause Sunday. It was the 18th annual Hospice at Poelking Lanes in Kettering. Our very own Meteorologist Jamie Jarosik along with 2 News legend Carl Nichols were there.

Organizers say it’s the community that has made this event a success.

“When it first started, we raised $7,000 the first year and had 40-50 bowlers,” said Lori Poelking-Igel, executive director for Hospice of Dayton Foundation. “Since then, we’ve sold out over the past decade and we have over 200 bowlers out here today to celebrate their loved one’s life.”
