ENON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Clark County Sheriff’s Office tells 2 NEWS a woman was found dead in her home early Wednesday.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the 39-year-old woman’s husband said he found her at the bottom of the stairs when he returned home around 1:00 a.m.

Investigators questioned the husband, and have since released him. Major Russell Garman with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office says the house at 6920 Tall Timber Trail in Enon has a history of domestic violence.

“Dispatch has told me we’ve been here several times, and some of them have been domestic related,” he said.

Major Garman tells 2 NEWS they’re working to confirm the chain of events that led up to the 39 year old’s death.

“It’s a death investigation. We’re following up on her husband’s story,” he said, “we took him downtown, questioned him, and following up with some of the places he was at to see if they have video.”

The woman was confirmed dead at the scene by medics. Her body is now at the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is also assisting in the investigation.

“BCI is assisting with the crime scene investigation. They can do a lot more technical forensic parts of the investigation.”

This case is still under investigation.
