Driver hits pole, temporarily knocks out power

CLAY TOWNSHIP, Ohio – Police believe a 24-year-old woman may have fallen asleep behind the wheel of her car early Thursday morning, before crashing into a pole.

It happened on Baltimore Phillipsburg Road in Clay Township just before 1:30 a.m. Upon impact, power lines were knocked down, temporarily leaving some residents without power, Clay Township police said.

The driver, whose identity has not yet been released, was transported to Miami Valley Hospital via Careflight.

It unclear what the extent of her injuries upon transport.
