MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) – Only 2 NEWS camera were on the scene with Dayton Police as a sex trafficker was arrested Thursday from an undercover prostitution sting in Dayton.
The sting took three days as police posed as prostitutes and used the internet to attract customers. As customers showed up, they were arrested.
Different people from all walks of life busted for the world’s oldest profession. Dayton police say a local church employee and a local hospital employee are among the five ‘johns’ arrested in the prostitution sting this week.
Officers also arrested two escorts and a man named Rolando Gunn. Police say Gunn is a sex trafficker who was forcing two women into sex slavery. Police say one of the women helped authorities make the arrest.
Dayton officers say they also got help from other police departments.
“A lot of the sex crimes we deal with are not just generalized in one area they cross the entire Miami Valley. So, if we have contacts with other police departments within those police departments we can use them for information and intel. They can do the same with us, then we can work together and combat it,” said an undercover officer.
Police say a lot of the motivation for the women caught in prostitution is directly linked to our area’s heroin problem– and the willingness to do anything to get money for drugs
