DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – This video comes to us from a mom of a third grader at Mad River Schools. Jessica Smyczek said she filmed it Wednesday night at Stebbins High School during the meet-and-greet for the basketball teams.
In the cell-phone video, you see a younger player dancing on the sidelines to the song “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)”.
Then, one of the varsity players comes over and puts his arm around him, and brings him to center court where they start dancing there. It only takes a few minutes before all the younger players run out to join, and several more varsity players start dancing too.
Smyczek said she really appreciated the show of team spirit between all the players, as well as the kind gesture the varsity player showed when he took a genuine interest in interacting with the younger guys. She said her son and his teammates really look up to the older players.
