DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Montgomery County Board of Elections announced it will hold a recount vote on December 1 at 8 a.m. for several races.
The announcement comes nearly 3 weeks after Election Day.
Director Jan Kelly says the following races will be recounted, Miami Township fiscal officer; Vandalia charter to eliminate the requirement for the city manager to live within Vandalia city limits within 6 months of taking the job; Centerville City Council for the third position; Riverside City Council for the second position; and Beavercreek City District, a multi-county recount due to the fact that a limited number of Beavercreek areas fall in the Montgomery County jurisdiction.
Kelly says the candidates and jurisdictions involved in these races will be notified Friday.
2 NEWS’ Beairshelle Edmé is working on the story; she will be speaking with Kelly on why this happened and what happens next.
