DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A man facing charges in connection with a deadly shooting is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
37-year-old Awet Teskeste was arrested and charged with murder last week, but according to Montgomery County Jail records, the murder charge has been cleared. Teskeste still faces two charges of tampering with evidence.
Teskeste was picked up by police Wednesday as a person of interest in the Wednesday shooting that killed 29-year-old Milton Davis-Thompkins of Dayton.
Teskeste is in the Montgomery County Jail.
Thompkins and another woman were shot outside PC’s Lounge in the 2300 block of Gettysburg around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday. Thompkins was rushed to Good Samaritan where he died. The woman at last check was listed in serious condition at Miami Valley Hospital.
