HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) – Police will be out in force this holiday weekend cracking down on impaired driving.

Two OVI checkpoints are planned for Montgomery County in Harrison Township.

One of them will run from 7:00 to 9:00 Wednesday night and a second checkpoint will be set up from 10:00 p.m. until midnight.

In addition to the checkpoints, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the OVI Task Force will have heavy patrols on area roadways throughout the weekend.

The annual Arrive Safe program also begins Wednesday. That program, sponsored by the Miami Valley AAA and Heidelberg Distributing, offers free cab rides home up to $50.
