DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Police are working to process multiple scenes of a shooting in Dayton on Friday morning.
Dayton police say crews were initially dispatched at approximately 10 a.m. to Gettysburg at Maywood Avenues, where gunshots were first reported.
They say a black Audi A6 was driving on Gettysburg Avenue when a green, four-door Audi — possibly a G4 — pulled up beside the black Audi and began shooting, firing at least a dozen bullets.
The driver of the black Audi pulled off to the side of the road, on Hatfield Street. She was uninjured.
The front passenger of the black Audi was shot four times in the torso but suffered non-life threatening injuries. He was treated almost immediately at the scene following the shooting.
Two types of casings were found, leading investigators to believe that there may be two shooters involved.
Another woman was sitting in the back seat of the black Audi and was uninjured.
Investigators say it’s unclear whether or not this was a targeted attack or a case of mistaken identity, as the windows in both cars were heavily tinted. Witnesses say they were unable to recognize anyone in either car because of the dark tint.
Police say the victim was taken to Miami Valley Hospital and is expected to recover.
As of Friday afternoon, there are no reported suspects.
