One killed in Harrison Twp. shooting

HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) — One man is dead following a double shooting in Harrison Township.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as 26-year-old Shawn Benson.

Deputies were called to the Northland Village Apartments in the 1900 block of Palisades Drive Friday around 7 p.m. after gunfire erupted.

When deputies arrived, the said they found an 18-year-old man just outside of the front door of the apartments with gunshot wounds. Officials said Benson had also been shot inside the apartment.

Both victims were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Benson succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at Miami Valley Hospital.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating.
