Police investigate reported break-in at Thai 9

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Three people were taken into custody after they were accused of trying to break into an Oregon District restaurant.

Officers were called to Thai 9 located at 11 Brown Street in the Oregon District Thursday around 8:30 p.m.

The owner called police after reportedly seeing three people breaking into the back of the restaurant with a crow bar.

When officers arrived, they said they found the suspects on the second floor patio deck. Officers ordered them down the stairs and took them into custody. One of the suspects stated he was there looking for cigarette butts.

Police report they believed the suspects tried to pry a restaurant window and in doing so, damaged it.

The suspects were taken into custody to be interviewed by detectives.
