DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — The University of Dayton’s annual exhibit has added something new on it’s world tour of nativity scenes.
“At the Manger: Christmas and Beyond” held its opening celebration on Saturday featuring activities and entertainment from the Dayton Celebration Chorus.
New this year,a model train travels through an 18-by-12 foot display depicting the events surrounding Jesus’ birth and childhood.
“One of the things unique about the nativities is they express the culture of the lands where they’re from,” said Kathleen Webb, Dean of Libraries for the University of Dayton. “So in each culture there’s something different in the way each nativity scene looks. That is a wonderful way for people to see how people around the world tell the story of the Christ child’s birth.”
The display will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends.
