Nebraska deputy jumps onto moving semi

MADISON COUNTY, Neb. (WOWT) – A 12-mile long chase through Madison County, Nebraska came to an end earlier this month when a sheriff’s deputy leaped onto a moving vehicle and brought it to a stop.

The driver wasn’t trying to evade arrest, but was instead having a diabetic episode.

The man’s blood sugar had dropped to a severely low level, and he didn’t know that he was diabetic until the incident.

“It was just one of those things we had to get done,” said Sgt. Volk, the man who ran across traffic and leaped onto the moving semi-truck moving an estimated 25 miles per hour.
