DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A woman called police Thursday after she says a younger woman ran up to her and stole her purse.

According to a police report, officers were called to the 1700 block of John Glenn Road on a report of a robbery around 4:30 Thursday afternoon.

When officers arrived they found a woman visibly upset who explained a younger woman had run up to her and taken her purse from her hand.

Officers noticed a neighbor had security cameras around his house and later learned there was video of the incident.

The police report says the video shows a light blue minivan following the victim and parking on the street after the victim pulled into her driveway. A woman got out of the van and approached the victim. The suspect is described as a white female between the ages of 10 and 25, wearing a dark jacket with an emblem on the back, dark pants, and dark, shoulder-length hair.

The victim stated there was around $20 in cash, credit cards, and a social security card in her purse.  The victim also told police when she called her credit card company to cancel the card she learned a purchase has already been made at a local Kroger store.

Police are still investigating.
