Police: Two people thought to be on terror watch list cleared

NEWTON, Ohio (WLWT) – Two people who Newton police thought were on a terror watch list who were arrested during a traffic stop in Newton later found out that was not the case.

Newtown Police Chief Tom Synan told WLWT that this is a concealed weapon charge and traffic violation only.

Synan said officers puilled over the vehicle and found a concealed weapon.

Police ran their names and one of the names hit on the watch list. After investigation, authorities said neither of the two involved in the stop are on the list.

The woman was released. The man will face a concealed weapon charge.

Neither is facing any charge related to terrorism.
